Tottenham Hotspur’s season has gone bad to worse in recent weeks. In fact, 2020 has been quite the disaster so far.On New Year’s Day they lost top goalscorer Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko to injury and just last month, Heung-min Son joined them on the treatment table a day after scoring the match-winner against Aston Villa.Spurs have now lost three successive matches in all competitions and have moved further from qualifying for the Champions League next season.A journalist rubbed salt into the wounds by posting a funny statistic that former winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has the best expected goals per 90 minutes ratio in the Premier League – meaning had he played every single minute of every single game, then he would have notched a total of 142 goals. That would’ve been some way to alleviate their woes. The 25-year-old has even responded to it on Twitter to joke about it, he said:
Nkoudou swapped north London for Turkey in the summer after he joined Besiktas for £4.6m, having scored just once in 27 appearances at the club.
Although his above comments about never paying attention to the stats could ring true here as well as he spent time out on loan with Burnley and Monaco but just couldn’t force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s reckoning.
Whose Line Is It Anyway: Roy Keane, Graeme Souness or Adrian Durham?
