West Ham United are one of the clubs showing interest in signing AZ Alkmaar winger Oussama Idrissi, as reported by Calciomercato.
What’s the story?
The Hammers are said to have been enquiring about the 23-year-old, but are joined in their interest by Everton, Leicester City and Ajax – the Foxes are the latest team to get involved.
Considering the amount of time that there is until the summer transfer window opens, there could potentially be an even greater scramble to sign the left-sided winger when that time comes around.
West Ham’s interest comes despite the signing of Jarrod Bowen in January, which was made in a deal worth upwards of £20m, as per BBC Sport.

Exciting talent
This interest is indicative of the mark he has made this term with a very impressive 20 goals and three assists from 30 starts across the Eredivisie, Europa League and KNVB Cup. That includes 12 goals in the Eredivisie.
During AZ’s Europa League campaign, the 23-year-old has also shown how effective he can be in the attacking phase of general play, averaging 2.8 key passes and 2.7 dribbles per game, while also being fouled 1.2 times. There has been an efficiency shown in his play as well, as he has maintained a pass success rate of 83.5%.
Idrissi has also featured on the international stage. After scoring seven goals in 29 appearances across the Netherlands’ youth ranks, he switched his allegiances to Morocco, for whom he has now gained two caps.

If he does make the move to West Ham, there will likely be a fair amount of competition facing Idrissi, due to the presence of Felipe Anderson, while Grady Diangana and Nathan Holland will also likely be back from their respective loans at West Bromwich Albion and Oxford United.
However, when his statistics from the current campaign are looked at, Idrissi could turn out to be an exciting acquisition for the Hammers.
Meanwhile, West Ham are showing interest in signing someone known by Daniele De Rossi and Rio Ferdinand.
