Kane opens scoring for BayernUp to 50 European goals in careerMatches Drogba's continental recordGetty ImagesWHAT HAPPENED?
The England captain opened the scoring in instinctive fashion on Tuesday, stooping low to head home Raphael Guerreiro's miscued shot. Not only did Kane bring Bayern level on aggregate in their Champions League last-16 clash, but he scored his 50th European goal in the process. That record equals the tally held by Didier Drogba, who netted 11 for Marseille and 39 for the Blues during his trophy-laden playing career. In the second, he netted again, pulling one clear of Drogba's tally in the process.

At 30 years old, that figure seems surprisingly low given Kane's stature within the game. 25-year-old Kylian Mbappe is only narrowly behind him, for example, with all of his strikes coming in the Champions League. It is, however, a testament to Kane's loyalty to Tottenham, although the England international has barely looked back since leaving north London. His opening strike on Wednesday takes his tally to 32 goals in 33 appearances this term, as any success Bayern have will rely on the goals of Kane.
WHAT NEXT?
While Kane got the all-important leveller, Bayern legend and close friend of the England star Thomas Muller headed home a second shortly before the break. A win on Tuesday will certainly alleviate some of the pressure on manager Thomas Tuchel, who had been rumoured to be in line for the sack if he doesn't take his side beyond the last 16.
