Newcastle United did not have the most enjoyable summer transfer window as manager Rafael Benitez was left in the dark about funds.
The Spaniard was able to bring some new faces in, and one of them was Ki-Sung yueng from Swansea City.
The 24-year-old predominantly plays as a defensive midfielder but can also play more centrally.
Since moving to St James’ Park, Ki is yet to make an appearance for the club, but has been included on the bench in both Premier League matches.
Newcastle are yet to pick up a win having lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur on the opening weekend and on Saturday they recorded a goalless draw with Cardiff City.
Despite the lack of goals, it was an eventful game as Isaac Hayden was sent off in the 66th minute and Kenedy missed a stoppage-time penalty just moments before the final whistle blew.
On Twitter, some Newcastle fans debated whether Benitez should give Ki a chance to link up with Shelvey, which would force Mohamed Diame out of the team.
