When the full-time whistle went last night at Ibrox, The Gers were all eagerly awaiting the semi-final draw for the Scottish League Cup. The four teams left in the competition are The Gers, their old firm rivals Celtic, Aberdeen and table-topping Hearts. The Bluenoses will be facing Aberdeen in their semi-final and the fans are already excited for the clash.
The game at Hampden Park will be played on the weekend of the 27/28th of October and the Rangers fans will be clearing their calendars in anticipation of the huge game. This semi-final against Aberdeen is the biggest opportunity that the fans have of getting to a major final and winning silverware in a long while. Steven Gerrard is already a hero amongst the fans, but if he added a trophy so early into his career he’d forever be remembered at the club.
Last night’s 4-0 win over Ayr United looked like a walk in the park for The Gers, and it’s unlikely that they’ll have it so easy when they travel to Hampden in a month’s time to take on Aberdeen. The Dandies are a much better side than Ayr United are and they’ll be keen to give Stevie G’s side a run for their money with a place in the Scottish League Cup final up for grabs.

The Gers can’t wait for the Aberdeen match and will be hoping they can advance to face either Hearts or Celtic in the final.
