One fan has claimed that Cahill has helped to transform the Palace defence since coming into the side, seeing as they have lost just once in five games and conceded only six, most of which came in a single match.

Guaita has been similarly impressive with an average of 2.8 saves per game this campaign, and a solid back four for Palace over the last month has allowed their forward players to strike on the break.

Other than the trip to Spurs, a last-minute equaliser for Wolves is the only blemish on Roy Hodgson’s defence, and that’s why fans have picked out Cahill and Guaita as their main candidates.
